A member of the Oyo State Advisory Council, Mr. Michael Lana, has congratulated Chief Nureni Adebayo Akanbi, on his installation as the sixth Baba Isale Musulumi of Ibadanland.
Lana, in a congratulatory message he personally signed, said the installation of Akanbi, who is a member of the state Elders’ Council, is a well deserved one and worthy of recognition of his leadership role not only within the Islamic religion but across the state.
The governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in the last election stated that the honour coming at this time is a reward of the commitments of the Arole Iba Oluyole, to always promote peace particularly among the adherents of Islamic faith in Ibadanland and all others who come in contact with him within and outside the state.
He added that the new Baba Isale Musulumi is a man with a large heart who always throws his doors open for both the young and the old at all times, noting that he always wants the best for all irrespective of religious or party affiliation.
According to him, “I want to sincerely congratulate and rejoice with our dear father, Alhaji (Chief) Nureni Adebayo Akanbi, on his turbanning and installation as the sixth Baba Isale Musulumi of Ibadanland. This honour is well deserved as you are an epitome of peace and worthy role model for both the young and the old.
“The honour to me is nothing but a recognition of your numerous contributions to the development and expansion of Islamic religion within Ibadanland, as well as love for humanity in general through words and deeds.
“It is my sincere prayer that Almighty Allah will endow you with wisdom and wherewithal to discharge your new role as the Baba Isale Musulumi of Ibadanland.”
