NGO Empowers Women, Encourages Little Beginning

A non-governmental organisation, Feed The Women Outreach, is dedicated to empowering women and girls in the country.

This time, however, the goal is for widows and single mothers to make an impact, thus, providing them with the necessary tools and resources to achieve their goals.

Because the NGO recognised the outcome of advocating for gender equality and women’s empowerment, it equipped over 100 women with various skills to boost their financial status.

From snack making, and liquid soap to toilet wash and cash, every participant had something to be grateful for.

The Founder of Feed the Women Outreach, Nwakaego Ojo, is pleased that her passion for seeing other women rise inspired the initiative.

Ojo, who said the event was the fourth since the inception of the outreach, added that the idea is to take empowerment to the ends of the world, reaching one woman at a time.

She clarified: “If a woman wasn’t strong, God would not have sent her as a help meet for a man. Only a stronger person can render help.

“We want women to know they have so much inside them. The empowerment is not to make them rebellious to their husbands or promote toxic feminism. It is to help women tap into their potential and rise for their generations.”

While Ojo wants these women to feel alive again, her NGO is giving the women the tools and resources to gear up for the new ride.

The convener explained that 10 widows and five single mothers were empowered with N5,000 each.

Ten other women were empowered with registration fees in the real estate field courtesy of a real estate expert.

For the Programme Coordinator of the Outreach, Samuel Emmanuel, no one knows the result the little good one offers today can yield tomorrow.

“The empowerment will help the women a lot because they are being taught to make are necessities that we make use of daily,” he emphasised.

He urged the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the knowledge and money they received.

One of the beneficiaries, Blessing, appreciated the organisers, saying that this empowerment would go a long way to solve her financial insecurities in the long run.

Meanwhile, the NGO also recognised THISDAY Reporter, Rebecca Ejifoma, for Outstanding Christian Ambassador and Kingdom Services.
