REAL ESTATE NEXUS 1.0 Convener, Oloyede, Advocates Innovative Financing

The convener of ‘REAL ESTATE NEXUS 1.0, Dotun Oloyede, has advocated innovative financing as the best model to unlock funds needed to reduce the country’s housing deficit challenges.

Speaking at the maiden edition of the firm’s conference, held in Lagos over the weekend with the theme, ‘Unlocking Nigeria’s Real Estate Growth With Innovative Financing Strategies’, Oloyede, said the sector must begin to look inward for more ways to unlock funds innovatively.

Commenting on the conference, Oloyede noted that, Real Estate Nexus is a conference that brings together industry mavens, real estate investors, developers and stakeholders to address one of Nigeria’s most pressing real estate dilemmas- finance and collectively proffer solutions.

He decried the staggering housing deficit of 22 million units looming over the nation, necessitating the need for innovative financing strategies.

For him, these challenges or gaps are why Real Estate Nexus aims to bridge and provide the needed platform where innovative solutions will be discussed and sent to policy makers.

According to him, “we are not just unlocking doors but opening pathways to a real estate era that’s vibrant, sustainable, and prosperous.”

He explained that as a firm that stands as a cornerstone of innovation and progress in the real estate landscape, they would continue to seek ways to help solve some of the housing challenges facing the country as a nation.

Highlighting the challenges facing the sector, he opined that the causes have been identified as high housing costs, elusive quest for mortgage finance, Inflation and the continuous devaluation of the Nigerian currency.

He charged participants that said that the conference should trigger a huge revolution in the real estate finance landscape by leveraging every solution that would be proffered by notable speakers at the conference.
