Ovations As Education District 2 Staff Fitness Centre Berths

The launch of the first staff fitness centre by Education District 2, Maryland Headquarter Office has received accolades from far and wide.

Amazingly, the district became the first Education District in Lagos State to own and commissioned a Zero cost staff fitness centre. Combined with a weekly Staff clinic and run in partnership with Health District 2, the fully equipped center will serve all staff members of the District.

At the launch of the fitness centre, a laudable initiative brought to life through the visionary leadership of Mrs. Anike Adekanye, Tutor General/Permanent Secretary of Education District 2, Maryland, the Game changer noted that the project was approved by the Lagos State Governor and is set to make a significant impact on all staff’s well-being.

The fitness center is equipped with state-of-the-art modern equipment and will collaborate with the staff clinic organized by the TG/PS in partnership with expert doctors from Lagos State Health District 2.

‘Keeping fit is not just a lifestyle choice; it’s a key to enhanced productivity and a better quality of life.’ – Adekanye disclosed.

The TG/PS extended her heartfelt appreciation to the amiable Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, for doing so much for the development of education, teachers’ welfare and productivity in Lagos State.

She also expressed gratitude to the Honourable Commissioner for Education, Mr. Jamiu Tolani Alli-Balogun, for his inspirational leadership. She appreciated the partnership between Education District 2 and Health District 2 led by Dr. Adedayo Lajide, the Permanent Secretary.

The fitness center will run concurrently with a staff clinic facilitated by team of doctors from Lagos State Health District 2.

The TG/PS emphasized the importance of prioritizing one’s health, especially before embarking on fitness routines, and highlighted the numerous benefits of maintaining a healthy body, heart and organs.
