Use Religion to Unite Nigerians, Niger Governor Charges Clerics

The Niger State Governor, Mr. Mohammed Umaru Bago, has tasked clerics to use their various religions to preach messages that would unite Nigerians.

Bago said in Minna on Saturday that the two major religions emphasised peace and peaceful coexistence among the people and charged clerics them to make peace the centre piece of their exhortation to their followers.

Speaking at the 5th Annual Musical Concert that was organised by the House on the Rock tagged “Shout 2023,” Bago enjoined Nigerians to embrace religious tolerance and shun tendencies that could lead to the breakdown of law and order either in the state or the country in general.

The governor said that he participated in the programme to give thanks to God for his victory in the last election and for the tremendous works God is doing to transform the state under his leadership.

He assured that his administration would continue to give equal treatment to all religions and also promised to give o support to the organisers of the event to make it stable.

Bago disclosed that the Minna Trade Fair Complex would be remodeled to host such events in the future.

Different gospel singers, from within and outside the state took part in the musical concert.
