Awuzie: Expect Best Entertainment, Service from Big Brain Naija TV show
The founder of Big Brain Naija reality television show, Charles Awuzie, has promised Nigerians and investors that the show will be packed with creative, innovative, intellectual, and entertaining content.
The Nigerian South African-based businessman and thought leader revealed that they will bring together leaders from government, corporate, and religious institutions to join hands to offer engaging content that reflects the culture and taste of Nigerian society, while showcasing talent, promoting the Nigerian brand, and developing the economy.
Awuzie made this known after the Big Brain Naija project team met with Senator Osita Izunaso, who represents Imo West (Orlu) Federal Constituency of Imo State, in Abuja on Friday to acquaint him with the project.
Some of the team members − Ossai Ilome and Kel Armstrong Amobi – briefed the senator on what the project was about, how it can help Nigerians, especially Nigerian youths, and how he can support it.
Ilome stated that the Big Brain Naija is designed to be a creative, innovative, and intellectual reality show that will capture the same demography that the Big Brother Naija show captures.
He however added that the project seeks to harness the intellectual ability of Nigerians, promote innovation and entrepreneurship, make the youth more competitive globally, and offer them the opportunity to network with people in their fields or industries of choice.
Ilome revealed that Big Brain Naija will have a similar format to Big Brother Naija but with different content.
“It is going to be a 12-episode reality show, featuring comedy, entertainment, game show, talent show, food show, and contests,” he said.
Ilome further revealed that they are working with production houses in Nigeria and South Africa for the project and that they will be using every media available − DStv, StarTimes, video-on-demand platforms, social media, among others – for the show.
“Whether at the government or investor level, there is the business side to this project. Reality show is a huge business,” he said.
Amobi told the senator that they need his support and the support of others in government to make the project wildly acceptable to Nigerians and private investors.
He stated that the budget for the show is $600,000, adding that private investors and political backing are germane to the achievement of the project.
“We need you to be the face of the government for this project and also help us build networks and connections within the government circle,” Amobi added.
Senator Izunaso acknowledged that the project was apt, given its relevance to the development of the youth and country. He also suggested ways the show can be successful and impactful.
The senator stated that, as a government official, even though the project is more of a private-sector programme, he will support it and help attract private sector and government support as well.
Awuzie, reacting to the senator’s acceptance to be the chairman of the project’s planning committee, stated that with a leader like Senator Izunaso, they will be expecting the Who is Whos in the Nigerian Capital Market to queue in.
He said the massive wealth of leadership and management experience the senator will bring to the Big Brain Naija project will make it a success.
Awuzie further said that in the coming days, the team will be mentioning prominent Nigerians who have declared interest in the Big Brain Naija project.
“Anyone who supports this project should be sure that they are part of the birthing of a national pride. Big Brain Naija will be the pride of the nation,” he added.
