Access Bank Donates Medical Equipment to Ogudu PHC

As part of its Corporate Social Responsibilities (CSR), and commitment towards reducing infant morbidity and maternal mortality in Nigeria, in line with Nigeria’s commitments to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Access Bank PLC, through its Retail Operations Group, yesterday commissioned delivery equipment’s which it donated to the Ogudu Primary Healthcare Centre (PHC), in Lagos

The bank also revealed that it equally donated similar delivery equipment to five other PHCs spread across the various geo-political zones in Nigeria, including, River State PHC, Port Harcourt; Badarawa PHC, Kaduna; Basic Health Centre, Ado Local Government, Ado-Ekiti; PHC, Gurku 1, Gurku, Kari LGA, Nasarawa, and PHC, Yalwan Kagadama, Bauchi.

Addressing journalists, Access Bank Zonal Head, Lagos 1, Adenike Jegede, said the bank has a corporate philosophy to always give back to society.

According to her, “Out of the numerous themes for the year 2023, which the bank has, we picked health and decided to partner with health centres because we are aware of the high rate of child morbidity and maternal mortality in the country. With the understanding that the health centres are the first point of call, if we must begin to change the trajectory, we decided to partner with selected primary healthcare centres across the six geopolitical zones in Nigeria, and not just Ogudu.”

Also speaking at the event, Access Bank Head of Retail Operations Group for South, Foluso Adedeji, noted that the gesture was, “an opportunity for us to give back to society. And we are here to commission the equipment we bought for Ogudu Primary Healthcare Centre. The intention behind this donation is to help the women in the community. We know that when you help a woman, you are helping the whole community.”
