BHOSA USA to Inaugurate Biology Lab at Baptist High School, Benin
Lady Anne Damisa, the Baptist High School Old Students Association (BHOSA) USA Branch chairwoman, has announced the grand opening of a multimillion-naira, ultra-modern biology laboratory built and equipped for their alma mater, Baptist High School, Benin.
The event was scheduled for October 31 at Baptist High School, 5 TV Rd, Benin City, Nigeria.
“As the demand for STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) graduates grows, hands-on experience is critical. Hence, BHOSA USA members donated N7.3 million to build the biology laboratory to prepare students for careers in this important science sector,” said a statement issued by Damisa.
According to Damisa, the benevolence rendered by BHOSA USA to Baptist High School, Benin, also supports what the Edo State Government is doing to salvage the educational infrastructure deficit. Edo’s Commissioner of Education is expected to attend the ribbon-cutting ceremony.
Amongst the other dignitaries expected to attend the BHOSA USA Biology Laboratory grand opening are UNIBEN’s Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Lillian Salami; former Head of Service of Edo, Mrs. Gladys Idahor; Justice Helen Adesuwa Courage-Ogbebor of the Benin High Court; and former Edo First Lady, Mrs. Eki Igbinedion.
These dignitaries are alumni of Baptist High School, Benin City.
