Six Barau Jibrin Football  Academy Players  to Play  in UK, Holland 

Efforts of the Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau I. Jibrin to promote sports have started to yield results as six players from his football academy have been selected to play in clubs in Holland and the United Kingdom. 

Senator Barau established the Barau Jibrin Football Academy in 2021 to promote football. Players in the academy are selected from across the country.

According to the Chairman of the Academy, Ibrahim Shehu Chanji, players of the academy on Monday paid courtesy call on the founder of the club, Deputy President of the Senate, Barau Jibrin at the National Assembly, Abuja. 

He stressed that since the establishment of the Academy two years ago, it has achieved a lot of success with some of its players currently plying their trades in some African clubs.

The latest success of the Academy, according to Chanji was the selection of the six players to play in Holland and UK clubs after a recent scouting programme they attended in Abuja.

“We are here in Abuja for a scouting programme, and I am happy to inform you that six of our players have been selected to play in clubs in Holland and England. This is a remarkable achievement for us having these boys begin their careers in such places.

“We also have other players in Niger Republic and Congo. We  use this opportunity to thank our founder and financier for his support to the academy.”

Responding, Senator Barau commended the management and players for the success recorded so far, urging them to sustain the tempo. 

 In a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ismail Mudashir, Senator Barau reiterated his commitment to the development of sports in the country. 

“I want to assure you that i am  with you one hundred percent. I hope one day you will be among the top players in various leagues and competitions across the world.

” The importance of sports in the contemporary world cannot be over-emphasized. Football plays a key role in preventing youths from engaging in criminal activities. I will continue to support you and all other activities that will create employment opportunities for our teeming youths,” he concluded.
