The awardee dedicated the award to leadership and staff of the National Assembly, their counterparts in NILDS and the media.

The DG NILDS as stated in the award letter, titled: “Nomination as a Public Servant of the Year,” (Shehu Shagari Gold Medal), secured the highest number of votes after an extensive three-month consultation and rigorous voting process conducted by a panel of 51 members from the PCI – Technical Advisory Committee, representing five strategic public institutions in Nigeria.

Meanwhile, President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Dr. Abdu Mukhtar as National Coordinator of the Presidential ‘Unlocking Healthcare Value-Chain’ Initiative, which is domiciled under the Federal Ministry of Health & Social Welfare.
The President, according to a statement issued yesterday, by his Media Adviser, Ajuri Ngelale, expects the National Coordinator of the new cross-ministerial initiative to bring to bear his vast experience and academic qualifications in the effective execution of the essential national assignment such that the massive economic boom represented by Nigeria’s healthcare-delivery system can move from potential and theory into reality and practice in accordance with the Renewed Hope Agenda of his administration.
The strategic approval seeks to unlock billions of dollars of new investment into the nation’s healthcare-delivery system through a time-bound and cross-ministerial collaboration to restructure the ecosystem of Health Product manufacturing, Health Logistics services, Health Technology services, Health Retail services (e-Commerce), Health Provider facilitation, and Health Payor reform (Third Party Administrators & Insurers).
