Bayelsa 2023 : Makinde Seeks Support for Diri

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has urged the Yoruba community in Bayelsa State to support the reelection bid of Governor Duoye Diri on Saturday.
He made the call in Yenagoa, the state capital, at a meeting held with the leadership of the community led by a former member of the House of Representatives representing Iseyin/Itesiwaju/ Kajola/Iwajowa Federal Constituency, Hon. Abiodun Olasupo
The governor assured the Yoruba community in the state that the present peaceful atmosphere that has helped in building their businesses, socio-religious ties and other concerns will subsist, stating that their request for acquisition of the building used for meetings to become a permanent one has been looked into.
According to him, “I assure everyone among the Yorubas in Bayelsa State that the peace you are experiencing today will continue so as to help your businesses, socio-cultural affiliations and religious harmony.
“All you need to do is go back and meet with our people with this message of hope and assurance that Governor Diri is theirs. All they need do is go and vote for his re-election.”
The leaders of the Yoruba community in the state, in their remarks, appreciated Diri for making peaceful coexistence among tribes and religious bodies possible in the state, which has positively affected their businesses and other endeavours.
“We are happy to inform you that the Yorubas in Bayelsa State have never had it so good, this administration has ensured peaceful atmosphere for businesses to thrive and for human development, we are grateful”, they said.
