Hike In Food Prices: Iyaloja, Tinubu-Ojo Meets Daniel, Sets up Taskforce in Markets

The Iyaloja-General of Nigeria, Chief Folashade Tinubu-Ojo, has stated her resolve to help Nigerians curb the hike in prices of food commodities across the country.

Tinubu-Ojo stated this when the Chief Executive Officer, CEO, of Oju Abuja Amala, Shinayomi Daniel, visited her at her Abuja office recently.

Nigeria, like other countries, is enduring a high inflation rate in its economy which in turn has affected prices of essential household items in markets.

According to the Iyaloja, “There would be taskforce in major markets across Nigeria to sanction traders who inflate prices of goods for personal gains.”

She commended Daniel for his courageous step to tread a path that has been majorly dominated by female cooks.

“It is rare for us to see a man turn Amala in our markets and sell but I commend your drive to start this business and I’m pleased with the reviews you’re getting in and around Abuja.

“The challenges you’re facing alongside other market women and men are just a matter of time because we have put in place mechanisms to reduce the hike in prices of food stuffs. I encourage you today to continue and aim for higher targets with this business,” she stated.

The CEO of Oju Abuja Amala, Daniel, was excited by the meeting and he pleaded to Chief Tinubu-Ojo to look into rising prices of foodstuffs.

“Despite the good initiatives your office and the government have put in place to improve the country’s economy, it is sad some individuals in markets are hiking prices to make life unbearable for the common man,” he said.

Oju Abuja Amala is a restaurant in the ever-bubbling Wuse area in the Federal Capital Territory and its services start from 3pm to 6am everyday.
