Breaking: Labour Suspend Strike

Onyebuchi Ezigbo in Abuja

Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC)  and Trade Union Congress ( TUC) have agreed to suspend their two-day-old strike.

The decision to suspend the strike followed an emergency extraordinary meeting their National Executive held last night in Abuja.

NLC and TUC had earlier met with the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, where the federal government tabled all the steps taken to address the demands of organised labour over the brutalisation of the NLC president, Joe Ajaero, in Imo state.

THISDAY gathered that the two labour centres held a joint NEC meeting where they reviewed steps taken by the government as well as pledge made to address all their demands and  resolved to suspend the nationwide strike already in it’s second day.
