UNILAG Mass Communication Alumni to Hold 2023 Dinner, Awards
The University of Lagos Mass Communication Alumni Association (UMCAA) has concluded plans to hold its annual ball and awards on December 2, 2003, at OPTS Hall, LCCI Conference Centre, Ikeja, Lagos.
The association said the event would be an evening of celebration, nostalgia and recognition of outstanding achievements within its esteemed alumni community.
Aliu Akoshile, the Vice-Chairman of the organising committee and the Chairman of the awards sub-committee stated that this year’s event would improve last year’s.
“It will be an exciting evening of 3Rs – reunion, reminiscences and recognition, and of course a delightful dinner,” said Akoshile.
The highlight of the evening will be the presentation of awards in various categories that showcase excellence, leadership, and dedication.
According to the chairman of the 1987 set, the significance of the awards is to celebrate hardworking UMCAAites and encourage the younger generations to become experts in their chosen endeavours.
“Six awards are up for grabs at the event, and I am very sure that everyone is anxious to know the UMCAAites who will emerge as winners of each category,” Akoshile disclosed. “Members of the award sub-committee are working round the clock to select the best of the best for recognition.”
The categories include Most Outstanding Set Award, Most Outstanding Media Brand Award, Most Outstanding Journalist Award, Most Outstanding Brand Manager Award, Most Outstanding Academic Award, and Distinguished Veteran Award.
