Osagie Ikponmwosa unveils vision to redefining infrastructure management in Nigeria

Amid the rising need for innovative infrastructure solutions, Mr. Osagie Johnbull Ikponmwosa has emerged as a key figure in civil engineering and project management in Nigeria.

Mr. Ikponmwosa’s contributions to the construction and maintenance of critical infrastructure have set a benchmark for excellence. Currently serving as the Director of Works at the University of Benin, Ikponmwosa is responsible for managing the university’s extensive infrastructure assets.

His innovative use of energy mixes—including public supply, generators, and solar solutions—has ensured near-uninterrupted power and water supply for the university’s 24/7 academic and research activities. Under his leadership, the university has seen the construction and maintenance of key facilities, such as roads, faculty buildings, hostels, and water systems.

What sets Mr. Ikponmwosa apart is his ability to blend technical expertise with people management. Beyond his engineering acumen, he has a unique talent for leading multidisciplinary teams, optimizing resource allocation, and maintaining morale under high-pressure conditions.

A proud alumnus of Edo State University (now Ambrose Alli University), where he graduated as the second-best student of his class, Mr. Ikponmwosa has earned prestigious certifications, including membership in the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) and the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN).

His international affiliations with the American Society of Civil Engineers further reflect his commitment to staying at the forefront of global best practices.

In addition to his professional milestones, Mr. Ikponmwosa is deeply passionate about community development and mentorship. A devout Christian and Sunday School Teacher, he finds joy in inspiring young minds to pursue excellence in both personal and professional endeavors.
