Buratai Seeks Support for Tinubu, Calls for Patience
*As Olowu of Owu Kuta receives ‘Legendary Icon of the Year’ award
*Senior military officers also reciepients

Former Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen Tukur Buratai (rtd), has called for public support for the President Bola Tinubu-led administration.
He also sought the patience of the citizenry for the policies of government saying there would be light at the end of the tunnel.
He spoke as notable traditional ruler, Oba Hameed Adekunle Oyelude Makama, the Olowu of Owu Kuta in Osun State, was honoured with the prestigious title of ‘Legendary Icon of the Year’, by “Our Nigeria News” management in Abuja.
Buratai, who spoke at the award ceremony organised by the media outfit also called on the federal government to institute a reward system for security personnel.
Speaking at the award ceremony organised by Our Nigeria media organisation, the former army chief
called on Nigerians to be patient with the Tinubu administration.
“We should still have hope. He has assured us of a renewed hope. I call on Nigerians not to lose hope and should be patient there is light at the end of the tunnel. We will get to that promised land”, he said.
On reward system for security personnel, he said it would motivate and ensure more commitment and loyalty, required to address insecurity and move the nation forward.
“In every institution, there should be a reward system. This is a way of motivating individuals to give their best to the country. It is also another way of identifying committed and loyal citizens. There is a need for more commitment dedication and loyalty in order for the nation to move forward.
“Many of the awardees are from the security sector. It is part of the ways to encourage them to continue with what they are doing. This will help them deal with the security situation in the country”, he said.
Meanwhile, notable traditional ruler, Oba Hameed Adekunle Oyelude Makama, the Olowu of Owu Kuta, Osun State, was honoured with the prestigious title of ‘Legendary Icon of the Year’, by “Our Nigeria News” management in Abuja.
While presenting the award, the media outfit’s management remarked that Olowu of Kuta’s innovation and transformation had significant impact on his Kuta kingdom and his subjects since he mounted the throne which made him worthy of the award.
“Oba Makama’s leadership skill has distinguished him over the years and his track record of success and achievements cannot be over-emphasised.
“Also, his proven integrity, credibility, discipline, efficiency and compassionate acts have made it compelling for him to be honoured on several occasions”, the management said.
A visibly elated Oba Makama expressed his delight over the award and thanked the organisers for recognising his modest contribution to the socio-economic development of his community and the country at large, adding that the award serves as a morale-booster for him to do more for the nation and humanity.
Other awardees include Major. General AA Tarfa (rtd); Maj-Gen. Victor Ezugwu (rtd); Mamma Murtala, Director DSS Borno State, and Late SP. Dr. Bako Angbasim among others.
