Corona Schools’ Trust Commits to Improve Learning with library upgrade

Corona Schools’ Trust Council, an institution with a focus on the development of world-class schools in terms of curriculum, teaching methodologies and management, has upgraded the library of Adeife Sodipo-Akindeko Memorial Primary School.


The library according to the management of the Corona Schools’ Trust Council is part of its commitment to education and community development, under its ‘Out-Of-School Initiative.
Chief executive officer of Corona Schools’ Trust Council Mrs Adeyoyin Adesina said the Out-Of-School initiative which commenced in 2022 is currently sponsoring a total number of 50 students at the AdeifeSodipo-Akindeko Memorial Primary School.


Speaking at the unveiling of the upgraded library in Lagos recently, Adesina said the upgraded, beautified and stocked-up the library is in support of continued learning for the children of the school, adding that it is also to commemorate the second cohort of 25 students.


“As an educational institution, it would be our joy for every child to have access to education, and in conjunction with the LASUBEB Project Zero team, we will continue to support these children and empower the school to a satisfactory level”. Adesina said
She further said that the Corona Schools’ ‘Out-Of-School’ Initiative embodies a commitment to providing the essential tools for learning, noting that Corona Schools will continue to lead the charge in fostering educational excellence and community development, bridging the gap for children who aspire to a brighter future.


As a testament to this, the second cohort of Out-of-School Children, brimming with potential, were presented with school uniforms, bags, notebooks and water bottles for the school year.
Education Secretary (ES), Somolu Local Government Education Authority LGEA, Dare Martins Onakoya, lauded Corona Schools’ Trust Council for the library project, adding that he is glad that the private sector is collaborating with the government to address the issue of out-of-school children challenge.


Present at the programme were esteemed guests and dignitaries including the School Support Services Shomolu LGEA – Alhaji Lawal Oladeinde, LASUBEB Librarian – Mrs. Odunayo Adebowale; Desk Officer Out of School Children SUBEB – Mrs. Omobolanle Sobowale; HOS Social Mobilization Somolu LGEA – Mrs. Badejo; School Manager of AdeifeSodipo-Akindeko Memorial Primary School – Mrs JosphineAdejaya, CDA Chairman of Ago-Egun Community – Mr. Moses and parents of the beneficiaries.


Also representing Director of Education – Mrs. Adetokunbo Matilukuro; Head of Corporate Services – Ms. Ngozi Ebo; HR Manager,  Ms.ChrisitieYellowe; IT Manager, Uanzekin Eromosele, Public and Government Relations Manager, Abiodun Oseni, and Marketing Manager, Mrs. Adebimpe Archibong among other representatives.
The ribbon-cutting at the ceremony was performed by the Education Secretary for Somolu LGEA, Hon. Dare Martins Onakoya, a gesture that signified the official inauguration of the upgraded library.
