The brand was selectively chosen as a reflection of professionalism, affinity for African designs and textiles, and intentionality in contributing to the development of fashion in Ibadan, Oyo State.
As it is always our delight to shine the spotlight on fashion prospects across Africa by reviewing their expertise, experience, and creative depth in the fashion industry, we visited the office of the brand and was welcomed into their showroom with an array of stylish dresses, all of which told a story of elegance, confidence, and simplicity for the everyday woman. An extensive dialogue with the creative director Blessing Bissong established her undeniable passion for quality-assured products in the Nigerian fashion industry. She explained,
“A lot of fashion designers these days are concerned about replicating designs from popular brands without putting into consideration the types of accessories, time, and craft that was involved in the process. At Beve, the vision isn’t limited to creating unique designs alone, we are intentional about using the best products to allow for longevity and versatility. And that is not to say that we deal in expensive production. We understand that quality is affordable on different levels, and we are focused on making every woman experience a taste of luxury and elegance.”
An impressive fact about Beve is the brand has a team of staff whose work ethic and skills align with the vision of the owner. Beve Limited is a brand that isn’t afraid to take risks and explore certain fabrics, accessories, and cultural influences. We saw designs made with fabrics from different states across Nigeria and cities in Africa and we can confirm that they are in the process of building a fashion brand that is culturally inclined and would contribute to the development of fashion and cultural tourism across Africa. The brand’s product development approach to create ready-to-wear and bespoke wear with locally and internationally sourced fabric is applaudable. With a substantial investment into getting a bigger space and more tailors, the brand will double its proficiency within a year and increase its clientele and popularity.
