The Academy for Women Entrepreneurs Alumni Association (AWEAA) has reiterated its commitment to people and community development by impacting Lagos and Enugu communities with business and health programmes.

The two-day events, which were recently held in Lagos and Enugu states, fostered education and business and also promoted health and well-being among the participants and beneficiaries.

The first-day event was held at Alade Market, Ikeja, Lagos, where the participants benefited from the health awareness talks and medical examination for market women and members of staff.

With 125 attendees, the health training was an eye-opener for the market women thereby raising awareness of the importance of work-life balance and fostering a sense of solidarity and unity within the community.
According to the organisers, the initiative aimed to promote health consciousness and encourage an active lifestyle within the community.

The president of AWEAA, Adebisi Odeleye, in her speech, emphasised the importance of entrepreneurs prioritising their health.
The Iyaloja of Alade Market, Chief Aina Adenuga, encouraged traders to maximise the opportunity brought by AWEAA for medical examination and seek further medication if necessary.

Other facilitators at the event included Kafayat Badaru, Mary Olayinka, Funmi Adeniyi, and Funmilola Agbayewa. These experts covered a spectrum of health-related topics such as mental wellness, preventive care, breast cancer awareness, among others.

The success of the event was due to partnerships with health-focused entities like Santeforte Pharmacy, Luxe Dental, and El-roi Diagnostic Center provided health resources, free screenings and dental check-ups.
The second-day event, which was held at the American Corner, Enugu, focused on business training programmes for tertiary education students.

The event featured guest speakers and industry leaders like Mr Sylvia Essiet, Mrs Nkem Ajufo, Mr Aniekan Usoroh, and Mr Ikechukwu Nwosu. They covered diverse topics, offering guidance to the 62 attendees.

The discussions, interactive sessions, and real-world experiences shared by the guest speakers provided a holistic learning experience, equipping the attendees with skills vital for their entrepreneurial journeys.
The collaboration with Autoease and WhiteLeaf Naturals as partners added depth to the programme.

Autoease, an automotive service provider, shared insights into entrepreneurship in the automotive sector. WhiteLeaf Naturals, a brand in the natural products industry, contributed expertise on sustainable business practices.

The organisers stressed that these dual events underscored their commitment to holistic community development − blending business acumen with health awareness.
They promised to continue to champion initiatives that uplift and educate people and communities.
