NANS President Condemns Attacks on Gateway Poly Students

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Lucky Emonefe, has condemned the attack on Gateway Polytechnic students, Sapaade, in Ogun State by hoodlums and criminal elements.

Reacting to the incident that happened in the early hours of Saturday, the newly elected President of the National Association of Nigerian Students at a press briefing, noted that at least one student was killed, about nine others sustained bullet injuries, sexual assault and destruction of property worth millions of naira.

He warned that such attacks will not be tolerated from any criminal element whose aim is to frustrate and kill the Nigerian students’ dream.

He therefore called on the Inspector General of Police, the Commissioner of Police of Ogun State and other Security Agencies to fish out these criminal elements and bringbtgem to justice.

He said that was the only way to redeem the image of the Police and other Security agencies.

He urged students of the Gateway Polytechnic to maintain decorum and allow the Police and other Security Agencies do their job of ensuring that these criminal elements are brought to justice, and peace finally restored to Ode, Ipara, Isara and Sapaade Communities of Ogun State.
