The National Orientation Agency (NOA) has urged its stakeholders and partners to intensify collaboration to ensure the successful delivery of its mandate in alignment with the current administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

The Director-General of NOA, Lanre Issa-Onilu, made this plea on Tuesday during the Stakeholders and Partners Retreat held in Abuja, focusing on re-engineering NOA programmes for a more effective re-orientation towards achieving CLHEEAN (Community-Led Health, Environment, Education, Anti-substance abuse and Narcotics, and Security) projects.

Addressing participants, Issa-Onilu highlighted the significance of the CLHEEAN initiatives, encompassing health and hygiene, the environment, education, substance abuse and narcotics, and security. He emphasized the need for a concerted effort to address these crucial areas for national development.

During the retreat, Issa-Onilu emphasized the importance of reassessing the agency’s strategies to meet the high expectations set by the Nigerian government and the public. He noted, “President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s government places a lot of value on reshaping attitudes, with the belief that positive attitudes generally will help push the country forward to achieve national objectives.”

He further elaborated that the Ministry of Information and National Orientation was renamed to underscore the commitment to the task of national renewal.

The retreat, according to Issa-Onilu, marks the initial phase of comprehensive strategies aimed at developing new approaches, efficient systems, and citizen-based plans to engage with the populace in addressing various issues affecting the country.

He said: “As you are aware, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s government places a lot of value on reshaping attitudes, with the belief that positive attitudes generally will help push the country forward to achieve national objectives.

“It was based on this reason that our parent ministry was renamed the Ministry of Information and National Orientation to enable all of us to concentrate on the task of national renewal.

“ This retreat is the first step in our wide-ranging strategies for developing new approaches, efficient systems, and citizen-based plans for engaging with our people in tackling the various issues affecting our country.”
