FCT Water Board Generates N3bn Revenue in 2023

The FCT Water Board has said it generated over N3 billion revenue from distribution of portable water as at November 2023.
The Acting Director FCT Water Board Mr Daniel Audu-Salka revealed this at a media parley.
He said the average monthly Internally Generated Revenue of the water board stood at over N300 million which was a departure from over N200 million which it generated in 2022.
He said the earning was a substantial improvement on N2.4 billion which the Board generated in 2022.
Audu-Salka listed the board’s main sources of revenue to include sales of water, which constituted about 95 per cent of its revenue in addition to lifting points, water connections, water analysis, tender fee and prepaid.
He noted that the board was hoping to tip the scale in its revenue drive for 2024 beyond its present generation by earning N450 million per month.
The Acting GM, said the board was supplying thirteen million cubic metres per hour to feed households and commercial establishment in the Federal Capital Territory, adding that the board was feeding Abuja with three hundred and twelve thousand cubic meters of water daily.
Audu-Salka explained that the board has achieved greatly in the reduction of non-revenue water, arising from leakages on the pipes, illegal connections, faulty metres among others.
