As the Mountain Top University, Ogun State, prepares to host the world and the academic community at its fifth convocation ceremony on December 21, it will be celebrating a significant milestone as it marks the fifth time the university will be graduating students through an uninterrupted academic programme since inception in 2015.
Briefing journalists on Monday, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Elijah Adebowale Ayolabi, said the occasion was a landmark event which underscores the university’s commitment and inclination to success.
“Exactly one year ago, we all gathered here for a similar occasion while preparing for the fourth convocation ceremony of the university. Since then, the university has grown in leaps and bounds, evident in the uninterrupted academic progress in the last year,” Ayolabi noted.
The vice-chancellor pointed out that one of the cardinal objectives at the university’s inception is to ensure seamless, uninterrupted academic progress.
“Every year, students who meet the requirements for graduation and complete their academic requirements pass out from this university with flying colours,” said Ayolabi. “This is part of our commitment, and we will pursue it vigorously to maintain our reputation as a university of excellence in Nigeria and in the world at large.”
This year’s convocation would have 348 graduands, from which 329 would be conferred with first degree, two with PhD, and one with MPhil., 15 with master’s degree, and one with postgraduate diploma.
