The ongoing five-day free medical and surgical outreach sponsored by the Minister (State) of Labour and Employment, Nkeiruka Onyejeocha, in Abia State has been lauded as a model of altruism by well-intentioned Nigerians and Abians.

The 16th edition of the initiative, which was flagged off Friday, has so far seen over 500 individuals struggling with various health challenges benefitted from the initiative.

In a statement by Onyejeocha’s Media Adviser, Emameh Gabriel, hundreds of residents from various communities in Abia State, including Amuda, Ngodo, Mbala, Umuaku, Owerre-Ezukala, Umuchieze, Umuelem, Ndiawa, Ihie, Achara, Nneato, and Umunze have so far benefitted from the initiative with three more days left.

Emameh explained that a key highlight of the day was the provision of eye surgery and treatments, including a range of surgical procedures for pile, fibroid, hernia and others to the participating communities, with the venue at Madam Susana Mbah Health Center, Amuda Umuaku Road, Isuochi, Umunneochi Local Government Area, Abia State.
