Aiyedatiwa Sworn in as Ondo Governor

Less than 24 hours after the death of Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, Mr Lucky Aiyedatiwa has been sworn in as the governor of Ondo State.

He was sworn in and administered the oath of office around 5:15pm on Wednesday, at the Cocoa Conference Hall of the Governor’s Office by the Chief Judge of Ondo State, Olusegun Odusola.

Aiyedatiwa was the deputy governor until Wednesday, December 13 when power was formally transferred to him after Akeredolu went on another medical vacation.

Present at the ceremony were the Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Olamide Oladiji; the state Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Ade Adetimehin; Secretary to the State Government, Oladunni Odu; and Chief of Staff, Olugbenga Ale, among other state executive members. 

Also present were former Deputy governor of the state, Lasisi Oluboyo, former speaker of the state Assembly, Bamidele Oleyelogun David, among others.
