The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) yesterday released the timetable and schedule of activities for the February 3, 2024 bye-elections.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) two weeks ago approved a timetable for conducting bye-elections resulting from the resignation or demise of members of the National and State Houses of Assembly.
According to the timetable signed by the party’s National Organising Secretary, Umar Bature, the notice of primary election and congresses to state chapters will begin on Wednesday, December 27, 2023.
The sale of nominations, expression of interest and delegates forms will begin on Thursday, December 28, 2023, and end on Wednesday, January 3, 2024.
In addition, the primary election is slated for Monday, January 8, 2024, and appeals on the party primary are scheduled to be held on Tuesday, January 9, 2024.
The party pegged the price for the expression of interest and nomination forms for the Senate, House of Representatives, and House of Assembly at N3.5 million, N2.5 million and N600,000 respectively.
“Please note that female aspirants and persons living with disabilities are to pay for nomination forms only.
“Youths (male/female) below 40 years are to purchase expression of interest forms, but with a 50 per cent discount on nomination forms,” it added.
