A member of the Oyo State Advisory Council, Mr. Michael Lana, has bemoaned the death of the Governor of Ondo State, Mr. Rotimi Akeredolu (SAN), describing it as tragic and rude shock.

Lana, in a statement he personally signed in Ibadan Wednesday, said the former President, Nigeria Bar Association (NBA), was a visionary leader with an unwavering dedication to his people and social justice.

The governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in the last general election added that the memory of the Chairman of the South West Governors Forum will continue to serve as a beacon of hope and inspiration for generations to come, noting that he would be remembered for his legacy of compassion, justice and progress.

Lana said: “I mourn the death of a dear big brother, Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu, the Governor of Ondo State. His death came to me as a rude shock because it is nothing but an end of a glorious era of service to humanity not only through the law profession but also politics.

“Arakunrin Akeredolu made great impact in

championing the cause of justice and the upliftment of the people at all times, I commiserate with his dear wife, Mrs. Betty Akeredolu, the children and the entire family, members of the law profession, as well as the good people of Ondo State, praying that the good Lord will comfort us all and grant us the fortitude to bear the loss of an icon who died at a time his services were still needed.”
