Tinubu Rejoices With SGF, Akume, at 70

•Says he’s a reliable top flight public servant 

•Bago, senators, others too

President Bola Tinubu has rejoiced with the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume, on his 70th birthday.

The President, who in a release issued by his Media Adviser, Ajuri Ngelale, described him as a reliable top flight public servant, also commended the SGF for his consistency and perpetual dedication to duty in coordinating the affairs of the government.

He acknowledged Akume’s rich portfolio of leadership experience and laurels as governor, minister, senator, and top-flight public servant, which he brings to bear in his current role.

Tinubu extolled the temperance, affability, harmony, and stability he consistently personified as he coordinated activities both within and with other arms of government, making himself accessible, focused, and dependable in bridging the divide between policy and implementation.

“George Akume is one of the most reliable citizens this country can boast of. The people of Benue have subscribed to his sterling leadership principles and leveraged his remarkable talent for so many years because of what he has always stood for.

“He will be with you in the best of days, and even most reliably, in the worst of days. The country has been blessed with the dedication and sure-handedness of Senator Akume.”

Also, the Niger State Governor, Alhaji  Mohammed Umaru Bago, has showered encomium on Akume.

Bago in a congratulatory message by his Chief Press Secretary, Bologi Ibrahim, described the celebrant as a patriot, astute politician, and a true leader.

“70 years is a milestone that is worth celebrating. I, therefore, pray to God to protect the   celebrant and grant him good health and more wisdom to continue his effective service to humanity.”

On their part, some members of the 10th Senate in separate statements, also congratulated Akume.

Leader of the Senate, Senator Opeyemi Bamidele; the Chief Whip, Senator Ali Ndume; Senator Ahmad Lawan, Senator Sani Musa and Senator Godiya Akwashiki, in their separate statements, described the former governor of Benue State as a progressive politician of repute.

Opeyemi said Akume, through firmness, resilience and tenacity reclaimed Nigeria from the claws of regressive elements in 2015.

Ali Ndume commended Akume for his efficient service delivery, and a collaborative approach to governance.

Senator Ahmad Lawan, said  the illustrious and selfless political career of the Akume, marked him out as an exceptional pillar of governance in Nigeria.

Sani Musa praised Akume for being consistent in the nation’s politics stressing that he is loved in Benue and by extension, in the North Central geopolitical zone.

Godiya Akwashiki also commended Akume for his commitment to the President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
