Uyi Commends Yemi Edun for T’tennis Development
Brand specialist, Drew Uyi, has hailed the CEO of Daniel Ford International, Yemi Edun, for bankrolling the 1st Daniel Ford International Elite Youth Invitational National Table Tennis Championships in Nigeria, arguing that it will serve as a springboard for the discovery of future talents in the country.
Drew Uyi, a FIFA-licensed agent has dedicated his career to creating opportunities for the upcoming generation of sporting talents in Nigeria, particularly in football, and ensuring athletes maximize their gift and marketability for full-blown commercial profitability.
The 1st Daniel Ford International Elite Youth Invitational National Table Tennis Championships saw hundreds of young and talented table tennis talents converge on the Molade Okoya-Thomas Hall of the Teslim Balogun Stadium in Lagos for the two-day tournament, which produced new champions in the U-15 and U-19 categories.
The competition, sponsored by the UK-based property firm, Daniel Ford International, and organized by the Nigeria Table Tennis Federation (NTTF), hit its climax on December 22, 2023, and also crowned winners in four events on the final day.
Aside from the mouth-watering prize money, the boarding and feeding of all invited players and officials was fully funded by the sponsors.
Impressed by the standard of play at the tournament, Drew Uyi urged sports administrators to monitor and groom the talents discovered for the optimization of the country in future national and international competitions.
“Now that the tournament is over, the job of monitoring the talents discovered must start and I am calling on the tennis administrators and the organizers to closely watch the exciting players who distinguished themselves at the Daniel Ford International tournament, for Nigeria to keep producing world-beaters like Aruna Quadri and Bose Kaffo”, said Drew Uyi.
While commending Yemi Edun for bankrolling the developmental program, Uyi urged other wealthy individuals to emulate the founder of Daniel Ford International for creating a platform for youths to showcase their talents.
