Pay Attention to Children’s Happiness, APC Chieftain Urges
A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in Ikeja Local Government area of Lagos State, Prince Muyideen Illo, has tasked well-to-do Nigerians to devote resources to the happiness of children as they determine Nigeria’s future.
Illo who is the Founder of Prince Adeyinka Illo Foundation (PAI) gave the admonition in Ikeja, at a New Year Funfair sponsored by the Foundation for children resident in the local council.
Speaking at the funfair that attracted over 1000 children and their parents, Illo remarked that his outfit saw the show as expedient considering the economic situation in the country, in which many parents are financially handicapped to take their kids out for Yuletide carnivals.
“While we have many packages in the pipeline to assist indigent parents in the education of their children, we considered this Yuletide funfair as expedient so as to make the kids whose parents are financially handicapped to take them to amusement parks, happy.
“This is one of our approaches to cushion the effect of on-going economic reforms, and we are happy to fete these children, make them engage in games, dances, and quiz programmes that attract varios prizes,” he enthused.
On the occasion, the children went home with various gifts that include school bags and other memes.
Prince Illo also recalled that his non-governmental organisation had last October distributed bags of rice and other food items to 300 residents of Ikeja Local Government, to complement the palliative programmes of President Bola Tinubu and Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
He particularly commended the sterling performance of the Lagos State governor as witnessed especially in modern lite train to ease traffic congestion, construction of over 300 road networks, provision of jobs, and rebuilding of dilapidated social infrastructure, among others.
“We in Ikeja are particularly happy with his administration as we witnessed unprecedented growth under His Excellency, especially in road constructions and job provisions for our hitherto jobless youths,” he stressed.
Meanwhile, the APC chieftain has enjoined Nigerians to be patient with the administration of President Bola Tinubu, noting that some pains are inescapable in the attempt to fix any rot.
‘Already, this administration is working on broken down refineries in the aftermath of fuel subsidy removal, so that once the refineries are fully back, the pump price of petrol will naturally drop.
“Again, many road projects have been awarded across the country, while the federal government has rolled out many palliative measures to cushion the effect of this reform measure; this is the way to go,” he applauded.
