About six years ago, DJ Venum was all over the timeline and news about his attempt at breaking DJ Obi’s world record for longest disc jockeying. He eventually did. Long before the craze for breaking the Guinness Book of Records. Years before Hilda Baci made the feat fanciful and perhaps the best thing after Amala and Abula. There was a dreadlock-wearing DJ Venum.

Agboola Venmak’s attempt at the record registered his name in the minds of the people, he became an urban legend in Akure and perhaps throughout the country. Born over two decades ago, Venum’s love for music started at an early stage. From listening to his dad play classic records to him taking his time to savor the music on radio stations, this formed his music taste, by the time he was of age, Dj Venum already had a flair for music.

No wonder it was easier for him to attempt the Guinness World Record for the longest disc jockeying, playing music non-stop for 18 days. The initiative draws visits and salutations from industry players like MI Abaga, DJ Lambo, and others.

The Guinness feat won him a brand ambassador deal with Flair Underwear and Nack Apparel. Beyond being a DJ, Venum has also explored his other creativity; he has experimented with his love for fashion and lifestyle modeling by appearing in selected ads across Nigeria, adorning pristine clothing, etc.

In the last four years, he has been able to carve a niche for himself in the Lagos State entertainment scene by appearing in selected shows. Hardly is there any party in Lagos without DJ Venum having an input.

From hosting a listening party for Blaqbonez’s Emeka Must Shine album to performing at Mainland Block Party, Add Coco Fest, Zero Gravity Lagos, Interspace Sound System, and others, Dj Venum has made it a trademark to give the fans a splendid time, with most of them asking for more. His array of playlisting has always been a bridge between the old and new. In this way, he has been able to succinctly appeal to the myriad of demography at a party scene.

DJ Venum might have broken a Guinness Book of Records when it was not that fashionable in the country, right now, there is no doubt that he is beyond that feat, he might have even forgotten that moment. Right now, there are other major features that he grapples with; giving his audience the maximum benefit of their time and money. No obstacle can stand between that goal.
