Nollywood actor, Yul Edochie has continued to make headlines since the start of the New Year. The latest was his posthumous birthday message to his late son, Kambilichukwu, who passed on in March 2023. Kambili, who would have been 17 on January 4, slumped and died while playing football in school last year.

In the heartfelt message shared via social media, Yul expressed how much he misses his late son, while recounting a dream he had about him. Yul, however, added that he had to stay strong for the deceased’s siblings. The actor also shared a picture of him and his late son alongside the post.

Yul, who has repeatedly dragged his first wife, May, on social media, in the message, said he never knew he would one day write a note like the one he wrote for the deceased.  However, Yul’s post this time around, stirred emotions with many recalling and reflecting on the tragic loss and controversies trailing his home since last year following the estranged relationship with May.

Yul’s affair with his new wife, Judy Austin, with whom he welcomed a son, has been another issue and has for a while now drawn all shades of ridiculous comment while some have expressed sympathy on the going controversy in his home, with many attributing blame on him. The controversy rocking Yul’s home had taken a new twist this week.

This comes in response to May’s recent post where she reflected on the past year.  On 1 January, May, recollecting the highlights of the past year, said 2023 stole her flesh and blood, leaving her in the most devastating, miserable and confused state. May was referring to the loss of their first son, Kambilichikwu.

She said she lost hope and nearly gave up with too many questions eating her up but found solace in God.  Reacting to his estranged wife, Yul, among other things, accused her of undergoing breast enlargement surgery last year, without informing him, despite the demise of their son.

Yul expressed dissatisfaction with May’s decision, questioning the influence of her new relationship on her choices. The movie star stated that he would no longer tolerate May’s attention-seeking behaviour, stating that he had remained silent to safeguard her image while she was actively tarnishing his own.

May last made headlines on August 3, 2023, when she filed for divorce. However, in another post last Wednesday, which he later deleted, Yul urged May to take away his surname from her name. “You have filed for divorce. Yet you refused to drop my name. Return the bride price I paid, you and your family refused.”
