Edward Sunday makes top 100 influential gospel personalities in Nigeria
Veteran music Producer, Edward Sunday has been recognised as one of Nigeria’s 100 most influential figures shaping gospel music today by Gospel Xperience magazine.
Sunday, who is the Chief Executive Officer, Azuza Productions, has over 30 years of experience behind the mixing boards producing hits for top gospel artists all across Africa and the world.
“I’m deeply grateful for this honour,” these were the words of “Dr. Edward Sunday” at an awards gala held in Lagos last Saturday. “Any influence I have gotten are all through God’s grace and my passion to craft music that lifts people’s spirits and connects them with the divine.”
As founder of Azuza Productions,
Sunday has left an indelible impact on African gospel music, thanks to his technical prowess and creative vision. His skills as a producer, sound engineer, and acoustics expert make him one of Nigeria’s most sought-after studio and sound professionals. He has produced chart-topping albums for many prominent names in gospel music.
But Sunday lends his talents beyond the recording booth as well. He has made immense contributions by organising and producing live concerts and tours for Christian music’s hottest acts. Artists and audiences alike praise his knack for capturing the emotional resonance of the music in a live setting.
“Edward has this unique gift not just for amplifying sound, but for amplifying the passion and messages of artists,” this was the testimony of one of his proteges, Yemi Olatunji ( YemyTpx) who has worked extensively with him.
As his recent global honour and influence indicates, Sunday has shown through decades of production, consulting, and live show creation that gospel music in Nigeria owes much to his continuing legacy.
