Ten Children Injured In An Explosion in Kaduna

Ten children have been reportedly injured in an explosion that rocked Kidandan village, Giwa Local Government Area of Kaduna state on Saturday afternoon.
Abdullahi Ismail, the councillor representing the area, confirmed the incident.
He said the incident happened on Saturday afternoon when the children went to the bush in search of firewood.
According to him, the children picked the object in the bush and started playing with it after they arrived home.
He said the object suspected to be bomb, suddenly exploded, injuring 10 of the children very badly.
The injured children were said to have been rushed to the hospital for treatment.
Eye witness said some of the children had broken legs and bulging intestines.
The village head of the community, Alhaji Abubakar Ruka, also confirmed the incident, saying that no life was loss, but 10 children were seriously injured.
He said the police had visited the village following the incident, adding that names of the victims were being compiled.
The spokesperson of the Kaduna state police command, Mansir Hassan, said he was in the mosque when contacted on telephone.
“I am in the mosque, you can call back when I am through”, he said.
However, efforts to reach him after his prayers were fruitless as he did not respond to telephone calls.
