‘Wahala in America’, Mr. Patrick’s Most Anticipated Comedy Film Opens in Cinemas

Lovers of unadulterated comedy are in for thrilling moments as ‘Wahala in America’, the highly-anticipated film by renowned US-based comedian and content creator, Mr. Patrick whose real name is Patrick Onyeke, hits cinemas across Nigeria.
Parading some of Nigeria’s best acts across movie, music and comedy genres, like Mr. Patrick (Patrick Onyeke), AY (Ayo Makun), Ajebo (Emeka Eren), Elenu (Babatunde Julius), Acapella (Bennett Chinedu), DJ Jimmy Jatt, Drew Wade and popular Nollywood actress, Uche Jombo, the film, directed by Christopher Nkem Okafor was created purely to entertain, exploring the culture shocks and nuances experienced by many Africans seeking a better life in the western world.
The 91-minute long film first created a buzz on social media, when Mr. Patrick, renowned for his hilarious content, shared glimpses of the flick in December 2023 via his Instagram handle @mrpatricktv, where he wrote: “Get ready for a rib-tickling rollercoaster ride! ‘Wahala in America’ is cooking up a storm of laughter and fun. Join us on this hilarious escapade across the States, where culture clashes and comedic chaos collide. From mishaps at landmarks to misadventures in the heart of the cities, brace yourself for a comedy that’ll have you in stitches. Stay tuned for a wild, uproarious journey.”
Describing the film as a package worth experiencing, Joy Odiete, the chief executive officer of Blue Pictures, the distributors of the film, urged cinema lovers to take advantage of this window of release and indulge in this journey of comic exploits. According to her, “Doctors say laughter is one of the best medicines. So Nigerians should go to the nearest cinemas around them across the geo-political zones to ask about this film, ‘Wahala in America’ if they want to laugh and be healthy. That is why we are involved in this project, in line with our mission to bring the best of cinema experience to our citizens.”
A press statement from the distributors indicated that the film is available at cinemas in Lagos, Kano, Port Harcourt, Asaba, Jos, Osogbo, Ife, Ughelli, Benin, Uromi, Ago Iwoye, Uyo, Abuja, Awka, Owerri, Abeokuta, Warri, Mowe, Enugu, Ibadan and Ilorin.
