World Wrestling Entertainment recently announced that it has sealed a partnership with the streaming giant Netflix. The new deal will see WWE’s flagship weekly wrestling programme, Monday Night Raw, streaming live on the platform from January 2025. It will be available to viewers in the US, Canada, UK, and Latin America, with additional countries and regions added over time.

WWE which is now part of TKO Group Holdings, Inc. will not only make Netflix the home for Raw but also SmackDown (which is currently airing on Fox but heading to  USA Network in October 2024), NXT, and WWE’s premium live events, including mainstays like WrestleMania, Royal Rumble, and SummerSlam. WWE’s award-winning documentaries, original series, and forthcoming projects will also be available on Netflix internationally beginning in 2025.

The deal is valued at $5 billion over 10 years. The addition will boost Netflix’s content vault as it recently unveiled its Q4 2023 earnings. “WWE is great sports entertainment with a huge, established and passionate fanbase, and we believe this long-term partnership will be a big value add for our members,” Netflix said in its Q4 shareholder letter.

The streamer added 13.1 million subscribers in the last quarter of 2023 and now has 260.28 million total members globally.

It also announced the return of the South Korean gripping survival drama series ‘Squid Game’ as well as the third season of the Regency-era romantic series ‘Bridgerton.’
