The Special Adviser to the Niger State Governor on Political Affairs and Strategy, Mr. Mohammed Nma Kolo, has given assurance that Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago’s administration would transform the state and take it to greater heights.
Kolo gave this assurance yesterday in a statement made available to newsmen in Minna, which said that all the policies and programmes of the new administration in the state would be geared towards making the state economically viable and self-sufficient.
He said: “Governor Bago has not left any stone unturned in his New Niger Agenda to take the state to the hillcrest of prosperity” pointing out that “the governor has demonstrated that he is the popular choice of the people acceptable to all stakeholders, by vigorously pursuing development of the state through his New Niger Agenda.”
He, however, solicited for the support of the people and assured them that the All Progressives Congress’ (APC) government would continue to work assiduously for a better future for the state and country at large, promising that the state government would continue to engage the people “to bring everyone on board for a robust participatory government as enunciated always by the Governor.”
Kolo also appreciated the opposition political parties in the state for allowing the governor to concentrate on the implementation of his policies and programmes stressing that “Niger State is one of the few states where the losers in the governorship election did not go to the tribunal to challenge the victory of Governor Umaru Bago.
“In Niger State none of the governorship’s candidates went to court after the election. It showed that they are committed to support the person that was chosen by the people, which is a great development.”
Kolo further submitted that politics is refined in Niger State and that “politicians understand the rules of engagement which is; accept the outcome as the will of the people and support those elected to lead the state to the Promised Land.”
