Tesleem Tunji-Bello’s Tech-Driven Journey to Revolutionizing Logistics through WHOOSH NG
Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) make up 96.7 percent of all businesses in Nigeria, contributing about 48 percent to the country’s GDP, according to the National Bureau of Statistics. While some of these SMEs offer services, a significant percentage of them sell goods.
Traditionally, Nigerians would go to their customers’ locations to buy products, but with the increasing use of social media, broadband and the internet, E-commerce has grown. Traders now deliver their goods to their customers’ locations. However, this process has been challenging due to slow deliveries, unreliable logistic companies, and other factors.
Tesleem Tunji-Bello is rewriting the rulebook of a logistics company in Nigeria with WHOOSH NG. After his graduation in economics from Adeleke University, he delved into fashion and discovered the difficulties SMEs faced in delivering their products. He started running deliveries himself, which eventually led to the establishment of the first logistics company.
Starting out in 2020 as a simple courier service, WHOOSH NG has transformed into an International shipping company and tech powerhouse. The company’s big move came in 2023 with the launch of a game-changing mobile app – the first of its kind in the industry. This app isn’t just about delivering packages; it covers everything from international shipping to local haulage – a one-stop shop rarely seen in the logistics world. Whoosh NG set out on a mission to bring a wave of change to Nigeria’s logistics scene.
The app is designed to tackle delays, make package tracking a breeze, and connect users with nearby riders for swift services, all while keeping costs reasonable. Tesleem Tunji-Bello puts it simply, “Our all-in-one logistics platform is more than just a service; it’s a revolution. We wanted a solution that not only meets but goes beyond what our clients expect, bringing unmatched convenience to the logistics scene in Nigeria.”
As Nigeria’s trade and commerce sector grapples with the obstacles posed by a changing global economy, WHOOSH NG’s smart solutions provide welcome relief. the upcoming web app, which is expected to launch before March 2024, will make WHOOSH NG’s products and services even more accessible.
WHOOSH NG is disrupting the Nigerian logistics industry by doing more than just delivering parcels. WHOOSH NG not only meets the demands of its clients by combining technology and logistics, but it also actively contributes to the efficient growth of Nigerian trade and commerce.
