The National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) has pledged to collaborate with the Nigeria Police by revamping the Force’s moribund vehicles and operational assets.
This was disclosed by the Executive Vice Chairman/CEO, NASENI, Khalil Suleiman Halilu, when he paid a courtesy visit to the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, at the Force Headquarters, Abuja.
Halilu said he was happy to join the IGP to kickstart a vital conversation regarding collaboration between the Nigeria Police and the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure to revamp the Force’s moribund vehicles and operational assets.
He further said that getting these assets back in operation will greatly boost the capacity of Nigeria Police to fulfil their mandate of securing the lives and property of Nigerians.
“Security, one of the cornerstones of human existence, is the second item on President Bola Tinubu’s eight-point Renewed Hope agenda.
“At NASENI, as Nigeria’s only purpose-built agency with the mandate to intervene in all fields of science and engineering infrastructure, we understand that we have a vital role to play in supporting national security”, he said.
He expressed his gratitude to the Inspector-General of Police, for the warm welcome, and the fruitful discussion.
In his remarks, the IGP promised to work closely with NASENI in line with President Bola Tinubu’s eight-point Renewed Hope agenda.
He thanked the management team for finding time to visit his office.
The mandate of NASENI is specifically in capital goods, research, production, and reverse engineering.
