Zamfara Governor, Dr. Dauda Lawal Receives 100 Most Notable Peace Icons Africa

The Governor of Zamfara state, his Excellency Dr Dauda Lawal, has been presented with the Peace Achievers International Award as Governor of the Year and 100 Most Notable Peace Icons Africa 2024.

The award was presented to him on Friday in his private office in Abuja by the Project Director Africa, Amb Dr Kingsley Amafibe for his commitment to education, health care service, peace and security and youth empowerment.

The event continues to honor outstanding personalities who have been committed to ensuring peace cut across Africa. Peace Achievers International Awards is graced by politically exposed personalities, top business executives, international organizations, ambassadors, and highly respected entertainers.

The governor, receiving the 100 Most Notable Peace Icons Africa, shows his commitment to education and community development. We will continue to work towards ensuring that our people get the best at all times. Dr Dauda Lawal.

During the award presentation, Amafibe said the award is in recognition of his sterling leadership and significant contributions towards peace building, conflict resolution, youth empowerment, health care, peace and stability in the state and women development in Zamfara State since the assumption of office

Amb. Kingsley Amafibe, while congratulating Governor Dauda Lawal, urged him to continue being part of efforts to make the Nigerian society and the Africa continent more peaceful and advancing the frontiers of good leadership.

Gov. Lawal expressed gratitude for the recognition and assured that he would continue to raise the horizon for effective governance through peace building.

He said he will not take the mandate of the people of Zamfara for granted, noting that the honor will spur him to more achievements in office.
Former President Goodluck Jonathan was among many Africa leaders who have received the 100 Most Notable Peace Icons Africa and Peace Achievers International Awards.
