Calling All Changemakers: Luminary Awards 2024 Nomination Closes Thursday

The maiden edition of the Luminary Awards 2024 will wrap up nominations today Thursday, February 15th this year.

The award is dedicated to recognising and celebrating individuals championing and making exceptional contributions to their communities.

Founded by Napa Onwusah, a multinational business leader and advocate for human empowerment, the Luminary Awards will announce the top 20 nominees on March 1 this year while public voting will end on 15th April 2024.

This award aims to provide financial support of N1 million to the ultimate winner called the Luminary Laureate.

Eligibility for participation is open to Nigerian individuals aged 18 and above who address critical needs or issues within their communities, demonstrate a positive impact, and possess a consistent track record of community development.

The Luminary Awards seek to honour those whose tireless efforts, often behind the scenes, usually go unnoticed.

According to Onwusah, “The Luminary Awards is more than mere recognition; it stands as a testament to the profound ability of individuals to effect meaningful change despite all odds.

“Our mission is to spotlight the everyday heroes whose impacts are felt within and outside their immediate communities.”

A distinguished panel of four independent judges including Deputy Country Director at TechnoServe Nigeria Ayokanmi Ayuba; D.J.O. Majekodunmi, CEO of Pact Universal; Eliezer Ajah, Learning and Development Specialist; and Oluwaseyi Kehinde-Peters, Founder of PAWEN, will meticulously evaluate nomination entries.

Beyond the ultimate winner, the Luminary Awards hopes to present cash gifts and consolation prizes to the top 20 nominees.

“However, this can only be possible with the support of sponsors and partners interested in this noble initiative,” the founder admitted.

The Luminary Awards continues in its mission to highlight the transformative impact of everyday heroes and also empower and uplift communities through financial support and public acknowledgment.
