In a bid to alleviate the sufferings of villagers in Yimutu, the Ambience of Hope Exceptional Foundation (AHEF) has distributed food and non-food items to over 2000 persons within the Village in Waru AMAC district Abuja.
Speaking yesterday, at the occasion, the National President, AHEF, Barr. Alexandra Olukomo, said, the driving force for the foundation of humanitarian activity is passion, propelled by love for humanity.
She noted on a unique day, like the 14th day of February (Valentine’s Day) is the right day to fulfil its core mandate of HOPE to Father, Mother, Brother, and Sisters in the community.
She said, “ Our uncles and aunties, we are here to give you a present on this Valentine’s Day, to wine and dine together in the spirit of love and oneness.
“ God that has given us the little to buy all these things and bring it here, shall make these things to flourish in your hand as we give you the sewing machine you will see customers, as we give you this cooking stove your food shall be sweets. As we give you this wheelbarrow, you will see loads to carry.
“ There’s no variableness nor shadow of turning. I want to thank the Lord God Almighty who has brought us here. I may not look at the paper to talk to us because I am a mother. I don’t need to look at paper. Looking at your faces, i am so happy.
“ I am joyous because I know that today the Lord has brought you the God Almighty has brought you to make you smile every item we brought today you are going home put your hands together I want to appreciate my baba. Thank you very much for welcoming us to this wonderful village.” She said,
On her part, communication consultant Mute Olori called on the government to be empathetic and listen to the genuine concerns of the people amid economic protests in the country due to the high prices of food items.
Olori advised that organizations like Ambience of Hope, with a proven record of integrity and trust, should be considered as partners by the government to effectively reach and support communities in need.
She said, “ Part of what we do in this organization is to give hope to people. That’s why it’s called ambience of hope. Right now, we’re focusing on North Central. We’re going to be going to South South and other communities and states and zones where we’ll be giving these things out to people.
“ Economic protests are going around the country because of the high cost of food items. Firstly, the government should be very empathetic to what is happening. They should hear our cry, and it is real. And secondly, organizations like this who are reaching out to communities should be the ones governments should be using, rather than just looking for, you know, just anybody who will not get these items to the community or drop them somewhere and make the people look for these items as beggars.
“ I think community organizations like this would know the communities who know the leaders who get down to the grassroots should be the right organization that should be used and organizations that have a proven record of integrity.” She added.
The food items that would be provided to 2000 households include bags of rice and other grains, cooking oil, cartons of pasta and noodles, and many more. The non-food items consist of generators, wheelbarrows, clippers, sewing machines, grinding machines, and many other items.
