Ministry to Collaborate with NESG for Nigerian Tourism Development

The Federal Ministry of Tourism and the management of Nigeria Economic Summit Group (NESG) are in talks over collaboration for review of federal government policies and programmes for the development of Nigeria’s tourism industry.
The Minister of Tourism, Mrs. Lola Ade-John, led heads of agencies and other top officials of the Tourism Ministry that met with an NESG team in Abuja yesterday.
Nigeria Economic Summit Group (NESG) is a leading private sector think-tank that supports government organs and agencies in formulating policies and implementing public programmes and projects.
The Chief Executive Officer of NESG, Dr. Tayo Aduloju, led the NESG team that met with the tourism minister at the meeting, Dr. Aduloju remarked that Nigeria is ‘Africa’s best kept secret’ for tourism and clarified that NESG’s role is to optimize the governance framework for the industry.
One of the objectives for the collaboration between the Federal Ministry of Tourism and the Nigeria Economic Summit Group is to ensure mutual commitment of parties to programmes and tasks intrinsic in the technical processes of reviewing, developing, and implementing a roadmap for the entrenchment of a sustainable tourism industry in Nigeria.
The Minister of Tourism, Mrs. Lola Ade-John, expressed delight at the opportunity of working with NESG in reviewing Government policies and provision of technical support in implementation of Nigeria tourism industry development roadmap.
The Director General of National Institute for Hospitality and Tourism, Nura Kangiwa, and the Director General of Nigeria Tourism Development Authority, Folorunsho Coker, were both present at the meeting, including James Sule, the Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Tourism and Ministry of Arts, Culture, and the Creative Industry.
