Season of Recognition for Nigeria’s ‘Mr. Lottery’

Nigeria’s ‘Mr. Lottery’, Lanre Gbajabiamila, Director-General, National Lottery Regulatory Commission (NLRC), was recently inducted into the Africa Gaming Hall of Fame with an Award of Excellence at the International Casino Exhibition (ICE) London, 2024, in recognition of his matchless dedication, commitment and novelty to the development of lotteries and gaming in Africa. The London ICE award was preceded by yet another record award conferred on Gbajabiamila by the National Data Protection Commission under the chairmanship of the Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy.

Presenting the Special Recognition Award to Gbajabiamila, the Permanent Secretary in the Communications Ministry, Farouk Yusuf Yabo, who stood in for the minister, commended the lottery boss for his effective contributions to data protection in Nigeria. 

Eulogising the NLRC DG, the minister said, “Your steadfast support and contributions to the National Data Protection Commission have not gone unnoticed. Your collaboration has been instrumental in furthering the goals of both commissions.”
