The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has declared a two-day national protest against what it described as the Federal Government’s non-implementation of the agreement reached on palliatives to cushion the effects of the removal of fuel subsidy on workers and the general public.

The NLC President, Comrade Joe Ajaero, who addressed the media in Abuja on Friday on the resolutions of the National Executive Council (NEC) meeting of the labour movement held Friday morning, said that organised labour was displeased by government’s continued delay in executing the agreement it reached with the workers since October 2023.

He said that apart from ratifying the February 23 deadline for the commencement of actions in protest against Federal Government’s apparent disregard for the suffering of the workers, the NEC meeting resolved to embark on a two-day national protest begining from February 27.
