Ingryd Academy Celebrates First Beneficiaries, Holds Job Fair

The Ingryd Scholarship Programme beneficiaries had their graduation ceremony and job fair at Y Arena, Awolowo Road, Ikoyi, organized by Ingryd Academy. More than 300 individuals who completed the learning tracks Cybersecurity, Data Science, DevOps/Linux and Java graduated and met with reputable organisations such as Jobberman, LEAP Africa, AEHRP (Association of Elite Human Resource Professions), TerraWorks, and Vesti, who came to find and hire talented individuals for various tech roles.

Ingryd Academy’s partners, such as LSETF, GIZ, and others, also contributed to the success of the event.

CEO of Ingryd Academy, Khadijat Abdulkadir, expressed gratitude to the partners for their commitment to the program’s mission. In her address, she highlighted the program’s evolution and its vital role in addressing the talent gap within the tech industry. Emphasising empowerment and support. Abdulkadir envisioned a future where individuals not only consume technology but actively contribute to its creation.

Reflecting on the program’s growth, the CEO underlined the focus on continuous improvement and the expansion of opportunities. She encouraged graduates to embrace a mindset of lifelong learning and empowerment.

Team Lead of GIZ – Centre for Migration and Development, Sandra Vermuijten, commended the collaborative efforts driving impactful change within Nigeria’s tech sector. She stressed the importance of long-term investment in human capital development and advocated for sustainable solutions that extend beyond training, emphasizing meaningful employment opportunities and economic empowerment.

The Acting Executive Secretary of LSETF, Feyisayo Alayande, celebrated the strides made in bridging the tech talent gap and outlined the organisation’s dedication to facilitating an enabling environment for job creation in Lagos State. Lagos State Commissioner of Innovation, Science, and Technology, Olatunbosun Alake,, delivered a speech highlighting the significance of community engagement, technology, and education in driving societal change.
