‘Ogunbanjo’s Demise Reverberates across Legal Business Community’

Chris Ogunbanjo and Co. yesterday stated that the demise of Otunba Abimbola Ogunbanjo has reverberated not only in its firm but across the legal and business community in Nigeria, his law firm has said.
Ogunbanjo died alongside the Group Managing Director of Access Holdings Plc, Mr. Hubert Wigwe, wife, and son on February 9 in California, United States.
Ogunbanjo was the Managing Partner at Chris Ogunbanjo and Co. and the pioneer Group Chairman of NGX Group Plc.
The law firm in an announcement said: “In this time of mourning, we find solace in the enduring principles he embodied- which included professionalism, diligence, innovation, integrity, entrepreneurship, and leadership. Otunba modelled the firm upon the timeless ideals of our Founder, the late Chief Chris Ogunbanjo, whose vision continues to guide us forward.
“As we reflect on Otunba’s remarkable contributions, we are resolved to honour his memory by rededicating ourselves to the pursuit of excellence which he was known for. It is our solemn commitment to uphold his legacy and advance the ideals which he represented.
“As we navigate this period of transition, we extend our heartfelt gratitude for your unwavering support and understanding. Together, we honour the memory of Otunba Abimbola Ogunbanjo by carrying forward his vision with unwavering determination and resilience. Adieu Bamofin.”
Late Ogunbanjo’s burial is set for March 1, 2024, in Lagos.
The Exchange on February 27 will hold a tribute and closing Gong Ceremony in honour of the late Ogunbanjo, while the Service of Songs and Night of Tributes will be held on February 29 at Rock Cathedral, Lekki, Lagos.
His funeral service will take place at the Church of the Nativity, Parkview, Ikoyi and Private internment follows at The Anchorage, Erunwon, on March 1.
