Gudee Gives Back To Society, Equips Orphanage Home In Owerri

At a time when most corporate bodies are cutting down on costs outside of key production and administrative areas, GuDee Limited, a company that exports SuperFoods sourced from small local polyculture farmers in Nigeria, has defied all odds by embarking on its usual mission of bringing succour to some of the most vulnerable people in the society.

As part of the company’s GuDee Impact initiative in Nigeria focusing on improving the livelihoods of orphans in orphanages., GuDee discovered some groups of orphans sleeping on cold, bare floors and under unimaginable weather conditions around the Owerri metropolis. Motivated by a sense of empathy, GuDee took that bold step to transform their living conditions.

The company intervened by providing the orphans with some high-quality mattresses and cosy beddings worth millions of naira. According to Mr Johnson Azibaoledia, Head of Public Relations, GuDee Limited told our correspondents that a comfortable and secure ambience has the capacity to impact the children’s overall well-being significantly.

Mr Chibuikem Osuchukwu, the Managing Director of GuDee, said the company cannot be deterred from this type of philanthropic outreach because it is part of its corporate social responsibility. He also harped that everyone’s propensity to spend has been largely reduced due to obvious economic reasons but that his company is determined to always give back to the society where it operates.

The mission of the company, according to its management, goes beyond financial success. It includes making a positive impact on host communities by providing support and capacity development for orphans through the orphanages”, he stated.

Mrs Confidence J, Head, Jesus Orphanage, Owerri, Imo State also expressed her joy and thanks to GuDee Limited. The visibly elated woman, flanked by the children of the home, praised GuDee for its compassion for vulnerable children and orphans in West Africa.

The distributed gift items were meticulously selected to ensure durability, hygiene, and, most importantly, the warmth they could bring to the young souls. As the first set of mattresses was being laid out, a wave of joyous shouts swept through the orphanage as the children could not contain their excitement. Some GuDee representatives also personally interacted with the orphans, sharing smiles, stories, and encouragement, during the presentation ceremony.

The Management of GuDee also pledged its continuous support, ensuring that the orphanages received regular check-ins, additional resources and opportunities for educational and recreational activities. It was also stated that the mattresses and bedding were just the beginning of a long-term commitment to improving the lives of these deserving children.
