The All Progressives Congress (APC), Bauchi State chapter has reaffirmed its confidence, loyalty and support for the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led federal government and his Vice, Kashim Shettima.
Speaking to journalists at the party’s secretariat yesterday in Bauchi, the Chairman of the Publicity Committee of the APC, Saadu Umar, said the president, his vice and the APC leadership have the unwavering support of the party.
According to him, “We implacably condemn the wild accusation that the APC leadership, the federal government and the judiciary have or are jointly or severally neglecting or maltreating the Bauchi State APC, its members and the entire population of the state. That is absurd and nothing can be further from the truth.”
Umar emphasised that President Tinubu’s high regard for Bauchi State is manifest because he appointed two of the state’s sons to lead critical Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Health and Social Welfare.
He added: “In particular, we condemn and find it irresponsible the attempt by Orlando to denigrate and demean the immense contribution of the vice president and the state chapter of the APC by suggesting stupidly and illogically that the APC votes share is more meaningful than that of Borno State, while the president won in Borno and the Bauchi States APC net vote contribution is in the negative.”
The statement also stated that it has full confidence in the judiciary as an institution, and has faithfully accepted all the judgments duly delivered by the courts “because the judiciary has demonstrated itself as an institution because some APC seats were maintained even though it has lost the governorship case challenging the election of Governor Bala Mohammed of PDP at the apex court.”
THISDAY learnt that the party was reacting to a statement circulated on some sections of the conventional and new media credited to some disgruntled groups within the party accusing the president of allegedly neglecting members of the party from Bauchi State.
