The Nigerian Business Coalition against Aids, (NIBUCAA) comprising of over 30 businesses in the country has taken its campaign for good health further by sponsoring HIV screening in Lagos institution and Abuja.

Partnering with Anti-AIDS Club to drive the campaign, the coalition stated that the move was driven by a need to promote safe love practices.

Up to 414 students of the University of Lagos, UNILAG and 17,000 persons from different communities in Abuja benefitted from the exercise, out of which four persons in Abuja were confirmed positive and referred to appropriate facility for treatment and support.

Speaking, Senior Programs and Evaluation Officer at NiBUCAA Abuja, Opeyemi Yekini, reiterated that the gesture aimed to foster healthier relationships and advocate safe love practices.

“We also noticed some concerns associated with HIV stigma, considering the conversations encountered during the exercise sensitisation and community mobilisation. More work needs to be done, and NiBUCAA is at the forefront of making this a reality,” he added.
